A Saturday In November

These photos are of the Barberry Bush we have in the front garden.

This particular bush came from Ron's mother's garden about 15 years ago.

It was growing 'wild' next to a large Maple tree.

Knowing that this species is very hardy we had no hesitation transplanting it from the Annapolis Valley to the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.

Over the years it has transformed from a sprawling bush to a standardized version of itself.

Which merely means that we made it into a bush that looks like a mini tree of sorts.....with a long  branchless stem/trunk and a top like a tree.

Wish I had a photo this time around to show you but I don't. Like everything else with leaves in the garden this year, this 'bush' was filled with beautiful colour last week.
