The Brood

Coming from a large family, I can almost relate to what these baby spiders have in store.

Since I have only ever known the dynamic of living with eight brothers and sisters,

this brood of spiders and I have a lot in common.

Large families have their advantages and their disadvantages.

Like the baby spiders, we 'kids' depended on one another for support of any kind when needed.

I wonder how long that support lasts in the 'spider kingdom'?

'Large numbers' guarantee the survival of the species, at least where Araneae are concerned.

And we humans aren't doing too badly in that department, although I am sure that could be argued.

Wonder what it would be like having all these siblings? Just sayin'!
